Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Integrated Telecom (ITC) has announced the launch of a new Gateway/Interconnection in the Kingdom of Bahrain with terrestrial connectivity, via King Fahad Causeway which added to the list of submarine and terrestrial gateways ITC established so far. This new terrestrial gateway contributes to increased diversity offered to operators and enterprises in both Kingdoms via both terrestrial and submarine alternatives.
Eng. Ghassan Itani, CEO, ITC said that launching the Bahrain Gateway is an important step within ITC’s strategy towards overall expansion of its fiber optic network of more than 12,000km covering most parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Accordingly, We already set our objective to expand our reach to the GCC, to Arab World and to the Globe represented by establishing ITC’s own 6 gateways, two submarine cable landing stationsin both in the West at Jeddah on the Red SEA, and in the East at Al Khobar on the Arabian Gulf, and four terrestrial gateways in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar and UAE as well as a International Point of Presence “POP” in London, UK.
Eng. Itani added that ITC aims to effectively extend its customers’ reach locally and internationally, and to enable global carriers to connect their networks to the GCC ,Middle East, and Globally through ITC’s reliable and diverse network, resulting in meeting and exceeding customers expectations.
Eng. Itani then expressed ITC’s target to broadening its customer base and reach out to new partners locally and globally and that it is perceptible in the value-added-services and unique value proposition of ITC offerings.
On the other hand, Eng. Nader Jadallah, Senior Director of The International & Wholesale Business in ITC said that he is delighted at ITC’s new agreement with leading Bahraini operators. He also said that the Bahrain Gateway is interconnected through a state of art Fiber network that is self-healing in case of any disconnection, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity and data transmission for ITC’s enterprise customers and operators. Eng. Jadallah added that ITC is constantly updating its network to stay up to date on the technology front and to better serve its surrounding region and beyond, given the strategic central location of the Kingdom.
