Etisalat UAE enables customer connectivity to the Republic of South Sudan

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance its customers’ connectivity to the rest of the world, Etisalat UAE has opened up South Sudan telecom networks. Customers in the UAE can now make calls to the Republic of South Sudan, which was officially declared an independent state on 9 July 2011. Starting today, customers will also enjoy roaming services while traveling to South Sudan.
To make international calls from the UAE to South Sudan, customers need to dial +211, followed by the destination number. Based on the customer’s subscription plan, calls will be charged similar to those made to North Sudan with dial code +249. As per the basic tariff plan, calls will be charged at AED2.40 per minute during peak hours and AED1.89 per minute during off-peak hours. For more information on rates, customers can call 101.
