Ericsson said it expects to close 4G contracts with all operators in Brazil by the end of the year. The company’s local plant in the region of Sao Jose dos Campos (SP), already produces base stations for 3G and 4G currently aimed for export to Latin America and the Caribbean. Speaking to Reuters, the VP for marketing and strategy of Ericsson for Latin America and the Caribbean, Lourenço Coelho, also said the company has a large capacity in Brazil, with the installed base of 40.000 radio base stations per year. Ericsson last year produced 37,000 stations in the facility, compared to 4,000 in 2008.
