du receives Hamdan Bin Zayed Humanitarian Aid Award 2013
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, presented du with the Hamdan Bin Zayed Humanitarian Aid Award during a ceremony held in Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi. The award was received due to du’s outstanding philanthropic work that has contributed significantly to social services in the UAE.

We will continue to support our leadership’s desires for the development of our community, by helping UAE nationals, UAE residents and those in need both locally and abroad to the fullest of our capabilities,” said Osman Sultan, Chief Executive Officer, du.
du’s humanitarian work has played a pivotal role in the company’s corporate responsibility since its inception. To date, du has been involved in the following, amongst others:
Social development: du works with partners to deliver a variety of social programmes, including planned initiatives and responsive activities to assist in overseas crises and distasters.House renovation: du’s ‘Feekom Al Khair wa Al Barakah’ campaign raised more than AED10 million in donations from customers and the general public, to which du donated AED1.2 million. The money went to the renovation of 30 Emirati homes for orphans, in partnership with the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and overseen by the Ministry of Public Works. Mawaed Al Rahman Iftar tables: Every Ramadan, du’s Mawaed Al Rahman Iftar tables distribute healthy Iftar meals for free to those in need across the UAE. In 2012, du distributed over 161,000 meals. Orphan’s Iftar: As part of its Ramadan activities, du invites Emirati orphans to join its staff Iftar, during which the children enjoy games, creative workshops and more.
