Huawei launches LifeLabs, a unique platform aimed at celebrating Huawei Fans in the region with experiential events

The inaugural event combined innovation, technology and photography to tie in with the launch of the Huawei’s latest dual lens flagship device P9 in the Middle East

Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) launched the first in a series of experiential events for their fans where innovative technology, photography and lifestyle all congregate. Titled “LifeLabs”, the first event was the ‘Photography & Art Life Labs’ to tie in with the launch of Huawei’s new dual lens smartphone, the P9. The “LifeLabs” platform is unique to the Middle East and sits under the umbrella of “HuaFans” a global initiative by Huawei to enrich the lives of their fans by offering a series of experiences. 


The P9 is the first smartphone co-engineered with the global iconic brand, Leica Camera AG, setting a new standard in smartphone photography.  With its dual-lens camera, the P9 takes smartphone photography to the next level, allowing people to capture both vivid colors and striking black and white images.

During the event, fans and guests of Huawei were given the opportunity to take the new device on real life tests across the city. Guests first met at the trendy JamJar in Al Qouz area, where they heard talks and demonstrations on the P9 as well as the chance to interact with Huawei executives.



The fans were then spilt into three groups to experience different activities including a thrilling buggy ride in the desert, a boat tour along the coasts as well as walking round the spices of the old Dubai. During the experiences, the group had the opportunity to use the P9 to capture beautiful images, along with the help of a professional phonographer and share their photographs across social media platforms. After the event, the best photographs were selected and then a vote was taken to judge the top three. The owners of the winning three photographs won their very own P9.

LifeLabs is slated to turn into a series of exciting experiential events held frequently under different themes, encompassing activities from fashion to motor racing, photography, to celebrate people’s passion in different areas.
