SCO becomes a full member of GSMA

SCO (Special Communications Organization) is a public sector organization working under Ministry of IT (Government of Pakistan). SCO, the telecom network/service provider delivering telecom services to both public and private sector (general populous) in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan region. SCO has officially announced that it became a member of global telecom association GSMA.

The GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, uniting nearly 800 operators with almost 300 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and internet companies, as well as organizations in adjacent industry sectors.

“Special Communications Organization (SCO) is now full member of GSMA, with equal rights and status” said Zulfiqar Mehdi, Director Operations of SCO.

By becoming a GSMA member, SCO brings its expertise to the community to empower people through state of the art information, communication and telecom services in the most difficult mountainous region of Pakistan. As a key player in the region, PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) has declared SCO as Significant Market Player (SMP) for all offered services.
