Airtel Zambia to roll out 3G services in Q2

Airtel Zambia reportedly plans to launch its 3G network in the second quarter of this year after upgrading over 150 of its base stations. A further 300 base stations will be upgraded by this September.
According to company Commercial Director Mark Ocitti, 3G is coming with high speed data. He added that the services will be spread across the country including rural areas because the firm believes that communication is a basic necessity for every person.
Late last year, the company stated that it was planning to deploy over 600 new base stations over the next two years in order to double its network capacity.
