France Telecom to announce partnerships with US Web firms

CEO Stephane Richard looks for new ways of monetising data traffic.

France Telecom will announce partnerships with US-based Internet companies soon, Chief Executive Stephane Richard said Tuesday.
France Telecom has been seeking partnerships with web players and content providers to find new ways of generating revenue from the rapid surge of mobile data traffic.
Richard said the company will seek to establish more partnerships with peers and also with web companies, as the future of the telecoms industry will be made more of cooperation than competition.
