Nawras increases support for Earth Hour as company joins initiative for second year

For the second year running, Nawras supported Earth Hour by turning off lights in the company’s office buildings and Stores. This year the initiative was extended to all Nawras Stores, not just those in the capital area, resulting in customer friendly professionals countrywide working with the bare minimum of lighting to support Earth Hour 2011.
In a message from Chief Executive Officer, Ross Cormack, Nawras family members were also encouraged to switch off lighting and electrical appliances in their own homes while sharing the important concept of conserving resources with their friends and family.

“Nawras joined the hundreds of millions of people all over the world showing their support for preservation and care of the environment,” Cormack said.  “We all need to play our part in using resources responsibly and protecting the beautiful country we live in.”
As a responsible corporate citizen, Nawras, a Qtel Group company, is committed to a number of ongoing actions to reduce, reuse and recycle.  Measures that have been adopted in the past and are part of the routine today include the introduction of e-recharge to reduce and eventually eliminate the need for plastic recharge cards as well as the countrywide installation of more than 50 self service machines enabling customers to recharge their accounts without using plastic.
