SLT crosses Rs.50bn mark in revenue

Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka Telecom, the largest fixed line operator in the country has recorded a yearly revenue of Rs.50.25 billion, reaching a milestone in the Sri Lankan corporate history by being the first listed entity to reach the 50 billion mark.
Releasing the SLT Group and Company financial results for the 12 months ending 31st December 2010, SLT said that its net profits rose 407 percent to Rs.4 billion while the pre tax profit rose 327 percent to Rs. 6 billion.
The impressive financial results were mainly driven by the improved performance delivered by SLT, the parent Company of the Group and exceptional performance by Mobitel, the Mobile arm of the SLT group.
Group EPS increased from Rs. 0.43 in 2009 to Rs. 2.18 in 2010, which is an increase of 407{e1f18614b95d3cd6e4b3128e1cd15d99b042a60a5a19c19b7a8e07e7495efa10}, which naturally permeated to better shareholder value.
