TRA Bronze Sponsor at Education Without Borders Conference 2011

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) sponsored the four day “Education Without Borders Conference (EWB) 2011” in Abu Dhabi, from March 28 to 31, 2011. The event was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research presented the keynote address at the conference, an initiative of the Higher Colleagues of Technology. The conference was themed Innovative Solutions to Global Challenges.
“Encouraging innovation, development and education lies at core of TRA responsibilities. We are eager to sponsor, participate and attend this kind of conferences. TRA Bronze sponsorship to the “Education Without Border Conference 2011” reflects our commitment and our role to support the educational process in the UAE.” said Majed Almesmar, TRA Deputy Director General.
“TRA strategy includes support for endeavors that enhance the statue and role of the national education sector through sponsorships for scientifically distinguished students and events to boost the education process in the UAE in all scientific majors that are based on the UAE needs.” added Almesmar.
Education Without Borders is a biennial international student conference creating networks across cultures in order to understand and generate solutions for some of the world’s greatest challenges. The world’s most innovative students and leaders of business, technology, education and the humanitarian sector collaborate in forum style symposia during the conference which culminates with a commitment to action.
The conference aims at providing a forum of mutual respect and understanding for participants from six continents, building a network of highly achieving college, business and governmental leaders from around the globe and sharing solutions to some of the world’s most pressing social challenges. It also means to inspire a commitment to social change in each country and community represented by conference delegates and to ensure that commitments are implemented upon each delegate’s return to their home country.
