Zain has rolled out mobile broadband services using the HSPA+ technology in Jordan. The operator’s new service will provide will provide high-speed internet at up to 21 megabits a second across all regions of Jordan on its launch.
The HSPA+ technology will eventually be able to provide internet data services at speeds of up to 42 megabits. The service will cover around 97{e1f18614b95d3cd6e4b3128e1cd15d99b042a60a5a19c19b7a8e07e7495efa10} of the country’s populated area.
The service will allow users to do video conferencing, view films and video clips either upon on-demand or live from TV channels. Customers will be also able to experience video calling service as well as uploading videos on social networks.
According to Zain Jordan CEO, Abdul Malek Al Jaber, the company is aiming to reach 500,000 users by the end of next year.
