Global Arabic Bouquet Television (GAB), which has been serving the Arab expatriates and Arab-speaking people the world over for twenty years, has today announced an extension of its partnership with Globecast, Arabsat and Arab States Broadcasting Union to further enhance the reach of Arab public broadcasters.

This multi-year agreement, covering a network of a dozen public broadcasters and their worldwide audiences, will enable GAB to bridge the gap between nations, enhance multi-cultural relationships and support international values of peace and friendship.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Globecast will deliver enhanced services for GAB by adding terrestrial distribution to its existing IPTV, digital TV and OTT platforms. Viewers can access GAB via Sling, Freeview, a bespoke application developed for Roku and operators across the US, Latin America, UK and France. With facilities in the US, Europe, Africa, and Asia and a strong cloud integration capability, Globecast is ideally positioned to meet the GAB’s diverse geographical and distribution needs, and more platforms across different markets are coming up soon

Launched in 2004, the GAB brings together a range of Arabic public broadcasters, including the Saudi Broadcasting Authority, Sharjah TV, Oman TV and Kuwait TV, into a single package distributed worldwide via satellite, OTT and now terrestrial platforms. For the last twenty years, Globecast has been the preferred solutions partner providing global satellite distribution, managing the GAB distribution from its technical facilities across the US, Europe, Africa and Asia.

“The enduring partnership between Globecast, Arabsat and ASBU demonstrates how long-term collaboration and commitment can deliver outstanding results,” said Philippe Bernard, Chairman & CEO of Globecast. “This new agreement represents another important milestone in our relationship and we are proud to extend our cooperation with GAB to extend their reach to more customers worldwide.”

“We are delighted to extend our partnership with Arabsat and GAB in an agreement that will see us reach 25 years of continual cooperation and success,” commented Giorgio Giacomini Managing Director, Globecast Middle East. “By bringing their services to new terrestrial audiences, we can support them as they continue to grow internationally and enhance their reputation as one of the world’s leading operators.”

“By extending our agreement for another cycle, we are demonstrating our commitment to bringing the best quality Arabic content to audiences worldwide. We look forward to continued growth and success in the years ahead.” said Alhamedi Alanezi, President & CEO.

ASBU Director General Mr Abdelrahim Suleiman said, “ASBU will continue to help its broadcasting members build better exposure on the best satellite services, reach worldwide audiences and offer their content to Arab and Arabic-speaking citizens all over the world.”
