Es’hailSat and Thales Alenia Space sign contract for manufacturing of Es’hail-3/Türksat-Biruni satellite

New high-throughput satellite to strengthen Es’hailSat’s leadership and expand advanced communication services across EMEA

Es’hailSat today announced the signing of a contract with Thales Alenia Space for the design and manufacturing of its next generation high-throughput satellite, Es’hail-3/Türksat-Biruni. To be positioned at the 50°East orbital slot, Es’hail-3/Türksat-Biruni marks a major milestone in Es’hailSat’s growth journey and represents the most significant investment in the company’s expansion strategy to date.

Built on a state-of-the-art platform, Es’hail-3/Türksat-Biruni will deliver high-speed connectivity, with the flexibility to dynamically allocate coverage, beams, frequency and bandwidth in response to evolving customer demand. The satellite will provide expanded coverage across the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, Central Asia and surrounding maritime regions, supporting a wide range of applications including broadcast, telecom, government services, mobility, maritime, enterprise VSAT, and remote connectivity. Es’hail-3/Türksat-Biruni will significantly enhance service continuity, capacity, and resilience for Es’hailSat’s customers by enabling sovereign and secure satellite communications infrastructure.

“The signing of this contract with Thales Alenia Space marks a defining moment for Es’hailSat and for Qatar’s ambitions as a leading satellite service provider. Es’hail-3/Türksat-Biruni will not only expand our coverage and capabilities into new strategic markets, but also strengthen the resilience and independence of Qatar’s communications infrastructure. We look forward to working closely with our industrial partner, Thales Alenia Space, to deliver high-performing communications services to our customers,” said Ali bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, President and CEO at Es’hailSat.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Es’hailSat for putting its trust in our company,” said Hervé Derrey, President and CEO of Thales Alenia Space. “Today’s contract is significant for Thales Alenia Space as it recognizes our ability to offer an innovative, fully digitalized telecommunications satellite that can be reprogrammed in orbit, along with the capability to integrate hosted payloads serving both commercial and governmental requirements.” This agreement reinforces the long-term commitment of both parties to deliver advanced, secure and innovative satellite communications solutions across key markets and applications, and lays the foundation for the next phase of growth for Es’hailSat across the broader EMEA region.
