Inmarsat Signs Agreement With MISC For XpressLink Solution

Inmarsat, the global mobile satellite communications services provider, has signed an agreement with MISC Bhd to outfit the latter’s 46 ships with XpressLink solution.
Within the scope of the agreement, there is potential for future opportunities and new deployments with the MISC Group, said Inmarsat in a statement issued from London.
MISC Vice-President Fleet Management System Captain S. Rajalingam said:”It is important for us to have ample bandwidth to manage our ships and shore operational systems and meet the communication needs of our seafarers at sea.”
The XpressLink is a fully integrated and managed combination of a very small aperture terminal and FleetBroadband, delivering unlimited data availability across the world’s oceans.
Ship and shore communications can be seamlessly and professionally managed and supported end-to-end. The dual system design also results in unmatched redundancy delivering near 99.9 per cent uptime.
