Oman’s Nawras eyes fixed, mobile broadband

Nawras CEO Ross Cormack has stated that the company eyes at fixed and mobile broadband to drive earnings growth as mobile subscriber numbers decline.
Nawras has recently reported a 13.6 percent fall in Q1 profit, due mainly to increased capital and operational expenditure.
Nawras also saw its mobile customer fall to 1.93 million in Q1, down 4.5 percent from Q4 2010, while ARPU dropped 3.8 percent. With the mobile voice market stagnating, fixed and mobile broadband will drive growth, while service level agreements (SLA) with corporate clients will also become increasingly important.
