UAE launches new e-government portal

Service features new e-pay options for fines and bills, is available on BlackBerry, Android and iPhone devices

The UAE has launched a new updates government e-portal which will allow everyday users to pay bills such as traffic fines and DEWA accounts as well as offering many core services to government entities and government employees through its corporate websites.
At the launch of the new e-services portal, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai said that e-transformation in UAE and the provision of Federal and local services through one gate helps to enhance competitiveness and open up broader prospects for direct communication with community groups. He said that e-services will also work to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of governmental work in the state.
The new e-services website now also features access to social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube and is available on BlackBerry, iPhone and Android smart phones.
The e-portal has several different tabs on the website, each dedicated to information for a particular type of user. The tabs are labeled Citizens, Residents, Businesses, Visitors and Government Entities.
