du wraps up GITEX Technology Week with celebration of five million customers milestone

The du family is now 5 million strong, and du celebrated this in style, by having a special ceremony held at its stand on the last day of GITEX 2011.

Reaching this milestone would not have been possible without the efforts of everyone within the du family, and we would like to pledge to our shareholders, customers and the UAE telecom sector that we will continue to provide such astounding results as we have already demonstrated.”
du’s participation in GITEX GULFCOMMS and GITEX Shopper proved to be once again successful for the UAE’s fastest-growing telecommunications company. Throughout the event, du made several major announcements, including the launch of its Emirati Plan in the presence of Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; achieving five million customers; having the fastest nationwide mobile data network.
In addition, the company signed several key partnership agreements, such as with Dubai Police, to allow the use of it mobile data network to transmit data from radars to the police control room; an agreement with the ministry of education; a two-year agreement with Manchester United to bring customers even closer to the English football team through exclusive content and more; landmark collaboration with ReiverNet to provide the world’s first user experience-centric ‘Bandwidth on Demand’, among other announcements.
