Nawras wins a record five trophies at Oman Web Awards including Website of the Year 2011

Nawras, Oman’s customer friendly communications provider, is celebrating after receiving an impressive crop of accolades at this year’s prestigious Oman Web Awards. During the event held in Muscat under the patronage of HE Dr. Mohammed Al-Wahaibi, Nawras walked away with the biggest haul of awards including the Diamond Award for the Best Website of the Year 2011.
Amongst the other trophies for Nawras were gold awards for both the main Nawras website at www.nawras.om and for www.bawabaty.om. The Nawras website presents a wealth of information including products and services, tariffs, promotions and the self-care facility of MyNawras, while BawaBaty is a gateway to news, sports, entertainment, wallpaper, games and much more.
Nawras also received a silver award for the youth focused site www.shababiah.om while the microsite for Nawras brand ambassador and national goalkeeper, Ali Al Habsi, was given bronze status.
Nawras Chief Executive Officer, Ross Cormack, warmly congratulated Nawras Online Manager, Idris Al-Balushi and the marketing and communications teams for their dedication and enthusiasm in constantly keeping the website fresh, exciting and pleasingly different.

During the awards ceremony, Nawras Department Head of Business Development, Raed Dawood, gave a keynote presentation to highlight the outstanding contribution that Oman is making to the world wide web. Describing the web as a source of information, entertainment and education, he applauded the ingenuity, creativity and originality of the work that is being contributed in this medium by so many talented Omanis.

This year alone, Nawras has also been presented with the ‘Innovation in HR Strategy’ award from Asia’s Best Employer Brand Awards, ‘Outstanding Leader’ from TMT Finance Middle East 2011 and ‘Best IPO in the Middle East’ from emeafinance Magazine.
