Omantel launches new bill payment service

As part of Omantel’s efforts to improve its customers’ experience, it has launched a new service that enables its fixed, mobile and Internet subscribers to pay their bills through Omantel bill payment machines using their credit or debit cards, a press release said. This payment channel is provided in cooperation with Oman Arab Bank and Central Bank of Oman to ensure security and confidentiality of customers’ information.
Commenting on the launch of the service, Mohammed Abdullah al Shekaili, support manager, billing and operations at Omantel’s consumer business unit, said, “The launch of this service is another attestation of our efforts to provide our customers always with a better experience. Our customer experience enhancement strategy does not only cover simplifying ways to obtain and use our services but also how to make it even easier and hassle free to pay the dues of these services.
“The new feature gives our valuable customers the flexibility to pay their bills at any time of the day, without the need to use cash. A customer would only need to enter the fixed or mobile phone number or use the barcode reader to pay the outstanding amount.” Mohammed further said, “Omantel’s automatic bill payment system proved a success since it was officially launched in 2010.
There are now 63 convenient bill payment machines working throughout the sultanate. The new service, which will be available in all Omantel’s bill payment machines, will provide an additional option for our customers to pay their bills and complement the existing channels which include the company’s automatic machines, e-payment though the company’s website.”
