Huawei Partners with Leading Operators to Examine Future of Mobile Broadband

The company hosts first ever 3G Series workshops in Islamabad building on long term commitment to supporting next-generation telecom services across the country
Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, will be meeting with top telecom operators from across Pakistan this week to support the future development of 3G broadband networks during the company’s first ever “Huawei 3G Series” workshops held in Islamabad from July 9 – 13 at the Hotel Serena.
Led by a team of Huawei global business and technology consultants, the customized workshops will leverage the company’s great experience in the field of mobile broadband to provide a forum for operators to review monetization strategies for new 3G network infrastructure in Pakistan, as well as solutions for improving the quality-of-service on Pakistan’s mobile networks.
Broadband telecom services supported through 3G technologies have the ability to open up enormous network capacity in Pakistan and enable significantly faster connection speeds for accessing content on the go. Broadband penetration also provides individuals with greater access to emerging Internet technologies such as video conferencing, video streaming and large file-sharing solutions.
“The huge potential of Pakistan’s 3G market is already driving telecom operators to transform their business strategies and networks,” notes Mr. Geng Simeng, CEO of Huawei Pakistan. “The potential benefits of mobile broadband are far more than just bandwidth, but make it possible for individuals to more easily create, access, and share information anytime from any location. This is a vision that is shared by all of us within the Pakistan market—one which we hope to realize through collaborations like this.”
With a long-term commitment to supporting broadband technologies in Pakistan, Huawei previously joined forces with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in September 2011 to successfully host a Broadband Road Show across the country—providing visitors with a unique hands-on experience of the latest innovations within the field of mobile communications.
As of the end of 2011, Huawei’s end-to-end capabilities in the mobile broadband field have been used by over 530 operators in more than 150 countries. Huawei’s integrated device, pipe and cloud solutions have been creating greater values for mobile operators around the globe serving more than one third of the world’s population.
