Bangladesh regulator expects MNP within six months

Bangladesh’s mobile customers will be able to switch to other operators’ networks without changing their numbers within six months, The Daily Star reported online. Zia Ahmed, chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), said the commission has already drawn up guidelines and mobile number portability (MNP) is expected to start within six months. Bangladesh has six mobile operators who served 84.07 million customers as of November 2011.
