Etisalat-5G-Saeed-Al-Zarouni

In 2019 Etisalat aims to have 1000 sites by end of the year with 700 sites completed as of now, leading to 30 percent of the main cities. In 2020, we aim to complete 40 percent of the main cities.

We also have 3 devices and 1 fixed CPE device launched and therefore expecting the demand for 5G services to grow with more 5G devices expected to be launched this year and also global events taking place like Expo 2020.

The demand for 5G services will grow further with more use cases for both customers and enterprises set to increase.

Expo will play a significant role in the deployment of 5G, with 200 sites set to be installed at Expo. Etisalat is making sure that our network will be able to support and enable all the technologies and services that visitors will use and enjoy at the expo site.

Etisalat 5G use cases

5G goes beyond connecting people to fully realising IoT and the 4th Industrial Revolution when compared to previous generations.

Etisalat is already collaborating with customers on 5G to deliver a long-term value across entertainment, logistics, automotive, smart cities and energy & utilities.

We firmly believe that 5G is a critical enabler for the 4th industrial revolution providing opportunities in both connectivity and beyond connectivity.

It will also create new opportunities and novel use cases, improve productivity across key verticals such as public safety & smart city, ports & logistics, oil & gas, transportation, manufacturing, automotive, health and energy & utilities. The network’s benefits will help drive efficiency for public and private sectors while enhancing quality of life for UAE residents.
