Etisalat Named Best Middle East Wholesale Provider for Fourth Consecutive Year at Capacity Europe Awards

Etisalat has again been named the Best Wholesale Provider of Telecommunications Services in the Middle East at the annual Capacity Europe Awards, which recently concluded in Amsterdam. This is a record fourth consecutive year that Etisalat has taken this honour, recognising the UAE operator’s strategic investment in developing resilient intercontinental connectivity and ‘Smart Hub’ , the regional content and internet hub.
Angela Partington, editor of Capacity Magazine said: “This award pays tribute to Etisalat’s strong history of service as well as a busy 2011 which saw the operational launch of its multi-service hub, Smart Hub. Through its Smart Hub, Etisalat is rapidly positioning the UAE as a leading internet hub while also establishing the company as an important and powerful player in the Middle East.”
Ali Amiri, Executive Vice President, Carrier and Wholesale services at Etisalat said: “We are honored to be recognized again by our international peers for our wholesale offering. A couple of years ago Etisalat had a vision for creating a ‘Smart’ Internet hub in the Middle East. This would service all global content providers and other telcos, providing a comprehensive and incomparable offering. It has taken a lot of time, and significant investment and we are delighted that the efforts of all those involved have been duly recognised.”
The Capacity Awards are organised by Capacity Media and have been created to recognise market players, who through applying effective techniques and strategies to their wholesale businesses, have established themselves at the forefront of the wholesale telecoms industry.
Etisalat was also recently awarded Best Middle Eastern Wholesale Carrier at “Telecoms World Middle East 2011” in Dubai.
